Company History

Trinity Construction was established in 1998 by Matthew Carricaburu and David Walters. Pulling from a lifetime of friendship and two extensive careers in the Construction Industry, working for major Construction firms, Matt and Dave launched Lake Arrowhead Construction Inc., dba Trinity Construction. A reputation of reliability, dependability, quality, and value was quickly established.

Matthew Carricaburu – President & Chief Construction Officer

Matt is founder and principle of Trinity Construction Company. He started his construction career with E. L. Yeager / Skanska Construction Company, completing 10 years of service. While at Yeager, Matt was involved with all phases of heavy construction including highways, streets, bridges, channels, parking lots, excavation, and grading projects. His expertise, experience, and extensive education have enabled him to fulfill the business role of President & Chief Construction Officer for Trinity. He is certified as an Operating Engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers and holds certification for various equipment, Hazardous Materials, and First Aid. Formal education includes Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at Cal-State University of San Bernardino. Contractors’ License, Class A, B, & HAZ, were acquired from the State of California along with licenses in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Colorado.

David Walters – Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

David is also founder and principle of Trinity Construction Company. David utilizes his expertise to provide the role of Corporate Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer while fulfilling business functions of sales, estimating, and project management. David’s expertise and abilities come from a diverse background of education and experience. David grew up in Lake Arrowhead, California and has called it home since 1985. After graduating from Rim of the World High School, he furthered his education by attending Crafton Hills College where he completed the Fire Academy and received a degree in Fire Technology. David was further certified as an Emergency Medical Technician with an additional certification for Hazardous Materials. David went on to complete a certification course for arc welding. Continuing his education, David completed a certification as a Level 2 Reserve Sheriff with the County of San Bernardino. David continued his education process to obtain his State of California Contractors Class B License. Prior to forming Trinity, David’s work experience included being a Fire Fighter for the Crest Forest Fire Department, a San Bernardino County Reserve Sheriff, and Project Manager / Site Superintendent for ICON General Contractors. David’s expertise in construction and project management was formed at ICON where he managed large scale commercial construction projects. Because of this strong foundation, David joined with Matthew to form the premier construction company, Trinity Construction.

Starting from very humble means, Trinity Construction grew from a small local Construction firm into a large conglomerate of business services reaching out to the 7 Western United States and beyond to service Fortune 100 Multi-State and Multi-National Companies, Governmental Agencies (Federal, State, and Local), Commercial Entities, Marina / Offshore Facilities, and private Residential customers. Matt and Dave, along with the rest of the Trinity team, make it a point to establish long-lasting relationships of satisfied customers which has been the foundation of rapid and sustained growth. As a result, Trinity Construction has grown 528% in just a short 4 year period in spite of a recessionary economy. Trinity supports its construction projects with a staff of highly skilled professionals, a network of specialized trade subcontractors & suppliers, in-house steel fabrication, office / shop / yard facilities, and a fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment to accomplish most any task. Trinity holds business and professional memberships with the Association of Building Contractors, Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce, and is listed with Dunn & Bradstreet. Trinity Construction is fully licensed, insured, and bonded having class “A”, “B”, and “HAZ” licensing. Trinity operates at higher standards of safety by meeting all of the requirements of MSHA (Mine Safety Health Administration) safety standards that greatly supersede the requirements of OSHA. All employees have gone through extensive training to qualify for these high-level requirements by Trinity’s in-house Certified Safety Training Manager. Trinity maintains substantial banking relationships that provide Lines of Credit to support a strong business structure.

While Trinity Construction has a local Mountain presence, it also has temporary and permanent office facilities throughout the region. Trinity is also widely diversified having 5 operating Divisions including Field Services, Public / Civil Works, Offshore / Marina, Residential / Commercial, and Snow Removal Divisions. The Field Services Division provides a unique set of services to Industrial and Mining Facilities by servicing, repairing, fabricating, and installing large-scale industrial equipment, steel structures, processing equipment, and high-pressure steel pipelines. Public / Civil Works Division primarily services Federal, State, and local Governments along with various Utility Agencies. The Offshore / Marina Division caters to everything from individual dock owner to large-scale Marina Facilities / Waterways by providing services of new dock system fabrication, installation, and / or repair to complete Commercial Marinas both in freshwater and saltwater environments. Customers include Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake dock owners and Marina Facilities to San Diego Water Authority and Marina Del Rey. As part of this Division, Trinity Construction also performs waterway maintenance including shoreline structures, grooming, and waterway dredging. Residential / Commercial Division services individual home owners, Churches, Campgrounds, and various Commercial entities. The Snow Removal Division provides services to County Agencies and Roadways along with Churches, Homeowner Associations, Property Managers, and Commercial Complexes.
